Each listing in ILSA is owned by exactly one Advertiser. An advertiser can have zero, one or more listings. Professional advertisers, like a car dealership, will probably have multiple, whilst consumers will most likely have a single listing.
Adding a new advertiser can be initiated by you or by the advertiser.
If you’ve convinced a dealer to advertise on your platform, this is the flow:
- You create the advertiser in the Backoffice. Make sure to set the source to DV.
- A message is sent to DV and Hexon will match your request with an existing dealer in DV.
- The dealer receives a request to approve the new link. This usually goes via the supplier of the vehicle management system the dealer uses.
- Once approved, DV will start sending the listings to ILSA.
A dealer can request to advertise on your platform:
- Hexon receives a request from the dealer, usually via the supplier of the vehicle management system the dealer uses.
- DV will inform ILSA and a Link Request is created in the Backoffice.
- You receive an email to go to the Backoffice to approve the Link Request.
- Once approved, DV will start sending the listings to ILSA.
WARNING
Don’t approve the Link Request in DV Insite. You should only approve them in the ILSA Backoffice.
TIP
We can configure your instance to automatically approve all Link Requests.
When you approve a Link Request, or create an Advertiser, you can choose an advertiser ID. You can for example use the IDs from your administration software to make them conveniently match.
If you choose to automatically approve all Link Requests, ILSA will choose (sequential or random) IDs for you.
By default DV will be the source of truth for advertiser information. If an advertiser e.g. changes their phone number, DV will update the advertiser information in ILSA.
You can “lock” each piece of information about the advertiser, taking ownership of it yourself. If a field is locked, we’ll use the value you’ve specified and ignore future updates to that field from DV. If you lock the Street, you probably also want to lock the Housenumber.
If you’ve locked fields in the Backoffice and want to revert to the value supplied by DV, click the Lock icon and Save.
Changing an advertiser always takes a little while before it is visible on your website.
If you want to remove an advertiser from your site, find the advertiser in the Backoffice and click Delete. Optionally select the reason for deleting the advertiser (this will be relayed back to the advertiser) and confirm.
The advertiser will then be deleted from all your instances, along with all listings.
