ILSA is fully internationalised. We understand the concepts of locale and region. The region is the country in which the vehicle will be used. The locale is the language the visitor speaks. For example an Englishman living in the Netherlands would use _region=nl&locale=nl_NL. The locale affects translations as well as the formatting of numbers. The region affects the price, which fields are shown in the sectiondata, the formatting of numbers and more.
Each instance has a list of enabled locales and regions. Contact us to enable more locales/regions.
If you’re using subsets we can configure a default locale and region per subset. For example if you have a subset for a Belgian advertiser, we could configure a default of _region=be&_locale=nl_BE.
We can configure a default locale and region for your instance. For example if you have only a single locale/region, the default helps such that you don’t have to pass it along with every request.
We have translations for all of our field names and enum values. For most text fields we are dependent on the advertiser however. You recognise those as the MULTILANG and RICHTEXT fields in the taxonomy. We currently don’t do any automatic translations.
Equipment and delivery packages without a translation to the requested locale will be hidden.
TIP
If your instance is configured for a single locale there is no need to pass the _locale parameter with each request. Same for the _region.
